Muscle Testing
Some healing methods use muscle testing as the process for the healing itself. This is not the case with Theta Healing. It is simply a great way to get some confirmation or 'proof' if you like, of the beliefs which are held by the subconscious mind.
Some people say 'the eyes are the window to the soul'; similarly we can say, 'the muscles are the window to the sub-conscious mind'.
There are a number of ways to muscle test and I will use two different methods depending on whether your consultation is with me in person or over the phone. Either way, it helps for the body to be hydrated so please drink plenty of water before a consultation.
Another aid to strengthening yourself before muscle testing is to strengthen the energy field around you; your 'aura'. This can be done by visualising yourself pulling an imaginary 'zip' from in front of your feet, up and over your head. This has the effect of re-sealing your aura like a bubble around you, making it stronger. (It is amazing how weak our energy fields can become during the day with countless people passing through our 'space' and this can be a great exercise in general if you're feeling a little drained)
Muscle Testing in Person:
This method of muscle testing uses the hands and is carried out sitting down in a comfy position. It is based on the principle that when our subconscious believes a statement that is made our muscles strengthen and hold tight and when it disbelieves a statement, the muscles become weaker and relax.
To test this, I would ask you to hold the tip of your thumb together with the tip of either your index or middle finger (whichever is more comfortable for you) making a link or circle shape.
To test that your body is in alignment with your subconscious, we usually take a couple of minutes to check that your muscle testing is accurate. The idea is that you hold the fingers together strongly enough to hold the link. I will then ask you to make both positive and negative statements and try to pull your fingers apart breaking the link.
When a statement is voiced that the subconscious agrees with, I should not be able to pull the fingers apart and the link will stay strong.
When a statement is voiced that the subconscious disagrees with, I should be able to pull the fingers apart and the link will be broken.
Once we're sure that our muscle testing is accurate then we can progress to confirming exactly which beliefs your subconscious mind may be holding causing obstacles in your life. (please see the consultations page for more information on the whole healing process)
Muscle Testing Over the Phone:
When muscle testing over the phone, I would ask you to carry out the testing for yourself and let me know the results of 'yes' or 'no' for each test. It is easy to do once you've had a little practise.
This method of muscle testing uses the whole body and is carried out standing up in a relaxed position, feet slightly apart. It is based on the principle that when our subconscious believes a statement that is made our muscles strengthen and lean forwards and when it disbelieves a statement, the muscles relax and lean backwards.
(Ideally if you face North the polarities will be stronger as the body aligns itself with the Earth's poles; however, if you're unsure which direction North is in then as long as you're well hydrated you should be able to test just fine.)
To test that your body is in alignment with your subconscious, we usually take a couple of minutes to check that your muscle testing is accurate.
To test this, (and you can try this now where you are if you're well hydrated) stand as suggested, in a relaxed position, feet slightly apart. 'Zipping' up your energy field as mentioned will strengthen the test results.
Now repeat the words: "yes, yes, yes" quite strongly and you should feel your body slightly lean forwards.
Now use the words: "no, no, no" and this time you should feel yourself leaning backwards.
Sometimes it may only be a slight tilt in either direction and sometimes more enhanced when even your feet will move with the 'pull'. Have a practise with this a few times to get the results nice and clear. (If you're finding it inaccurate don't worry. A quick 5 minute phone call and I can teach you how to muscle test correctly for yourself.)
Now you can practice making some statements such as: "My name is...(correct name)" and again you should lean forwards and now try: "My name is ..Donald Duck" and I'm really hoping you'll be leaning backwards!
